At FoneDeals, we want you to love your purchase. But we also know that sometimes things don’t work out as expected. Whether you’ve changed your mind or encountered a technical issue, we’re here to make the returns process as smooth and hassle-free as possible.


1. Our Promise to You

Every device and accessory sold by FoneDeals comes with:

  • 7-Day Change of Mind Returns – if you’re not completely happy
  • 12-Month Warranty – on all new and refurbished devices (manufacturing defects)
  • 6-Month Warranty – on refurbished devices in “Good” condition
  • Dead on Arrival (DOA) Protection – if your device is faulty out of the box

2. Change of Mind Returns (7 Days)

If you simply change your mind about a purchase, you may return the item within 7 days of receiving it.

Conditions:

  • Item must be in original, unused condition
  • All original packaging, accessories, and seals must be intact
  • Device must not show any signs of wear, scratches, or damage
  • Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is required

What you get:

  • Refund to original payment method (within 5–7 business days)
  • Or store credit (if preferred)

Note: Change of mind returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee to cover handling and inspection costs. This fee will be deducted from your refund.


3. Dead on Arrival (DOA) – Faulty Out of the Box

If your device is faulty or not functioning correctly within the first 7 days of delivery, we’ll replace it immediately.

Process:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of discovering the fault
  • We’ll arrange a free courier collection
  • Once verified, we’ll ship a replacement within 1–2 business days
  • If a replacement is not available, you’ll receive a full refund

4. Warranty Returns (12 Months / 6 Months)

All devices come with a warranty covering manufacturing defects (hardware failure, battery issues, screen faults not caused by damage).

Warranty covers:

  • Hardware malfunctions (e.g., charging port failure, motherboard issues)
  • Battery draining faster than normal (not due to normal wear)
  • Speaker, microphone, or camera failure (unrelated to physical damage)

Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Physical damage (cracked screens, water damage, drops, bent frame)
  • Unauthorised repairs or tampering
  • Lost or stolen devices
  • Normal wear and tear (battery life degradation over time, cosmetic scratches)
  • Software issues (factory reset usually resolves these)

Warranty Period:

  • New devices: 12 months
  • Refurbished “Very Good” / “Premium”: 12 months
  • Refurbished “Good”: 6 months
  • Accessories & chargers: 6 months

5. How to Initiate a Return

To start a return or warranty claim, follow these steps:

Option 1: Email Us

Send an email to info@fonedeals.co.za with:

  • Order number
  • Product name
  • Clear description of the issue
  • Photos or video (if applicable, especially for damage or faults)

Option 2: Call or WhatsApp

Call or WhatsApp us at +27 67 910 1244 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm).


6. Return Process

Once your return request is approved:

  1. Pack the item securely – include all original accessories, packaging, and proof of purchase
  2. We’ll arrange collection – for warranty or DOA claims, courier fees are covered by FoneDeals
  3. Inspection – our team will inspect the item within 2–3 business days
  4. Resolution – we’ll issue a replacement, repair, or refund based on the outcome

For change of mind returns: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was incorrect or faulty.


7. Refunds

Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days after inspection and approval.

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • If you paid via Mobicred, the refund will reflect in your Mobicred account
  • Store credit is available immediately upon request

8. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Screen protectors (once opened)
  • Earphones / headphones (due to hygiene reasons)
  • Gift cards
  • Items marked “Final Sale” or “Clearance” on product page

9. International Returns

FoneDeals currently ships only within South Africa. All returns must be initiated from a South African address.
